Tokoname Enji Teapot Tracie Hervey Bamboo WhiskThe Enji teapot has been skillfully crafted In Tokoname, a city on Japans eastern coast, where clay has been shaped by hand and flame for over a thousand years. The kilns are among the oldest in Japan and breathe life into Tokoname yaki, pottery of a soft red hue born from iron rich earth. When fired, the clay deepens to the color of warm brick, the surface matte with the occasional faint sheen of ash. A kyusu, the traditional Japanese teapot, is both
