The Musicmaster and Duo Sonic were Fenders answer to the newly developing student guitar market of the late 1950s. These featured 22. 5" scale lengths and were designed to be affordable and easy to play. This example, dating approximately to 1960, is a Duo Sonic which has had some changes over the years. Although these didn't commonly receive handwritten date markings on the heel of the neck, this one features
