William III Sixpence, 1697, 2nd bust, very rare edge grained (Peck 1387 KH13William III (1694 1702), silver Sixpence, 1697, second laureate and draped bust right, legend and toothed border surrounding, GVLIELMVS. III. DEI. GRA, rev. crowned cruciform shields, small crowns, Lion of Nassau at centre, date either side of top crown, . MAG BR. FRA ET. HIB REX. weight 3. 09g (Bull 1224 R2; ESC 1564; S. 3537). Toned, with pleasing dark colour, very fine for issue and much better than usually seen for this bust type, very rare.
