There are two layers behind that, one for color in the design and the last to be soft against the skin. The collars are stitched along the edges with 1mm nylon bonded thread. All of the hardware is plated steel. The ring is a welded o ring. The collar closes with a buckle in the back and the strap is highly adjustable. The collar can go down
