Youth Fashion Design Program Program Information (Ages 13+) Course Description Fashion Design Program suitable for teens ages 13+ Custom designs by students (design, measure, cut, and sew designs of the students choosing) Garments will be constructed based on personal measurements Learn about fashion illustration, creating technical flats, and building mood boards Students can choose from our curated selection of fabric or bring their own fabric that best express their personal style Discover new sewing techniques related to different types of garments Practice patience and learn how to problem solve Small class size allows students to work in groups, but also 1-on-1 with their instructor in a safe and relaxed atmosphere where they are free to express their own style through fashion 1 class per week (1.5 hour classes) Industry-trained instructors For students 13+ Prerequisite: 1 year of La Movida classes or equivalent sewing skills Course Outline Skills & Techniques Fashion illustration Technical flats Mood boards Learn new sewing and construction skills based on garment design Class 1: Fashion illustration, fabric selection, design sheets, technical flats Class 2 & 3: Continue with design process
